The AutoBeacon App evaluates your driving habits by analyzing sensor data and scores each trip based on multiple safe driving criteria. These criteria encompass Overspeeding, Distracted Driving, Sudden Braking, Sudden Acceleration, and Fast Cornering. In addition to assessing driving behavior, the AutoBeacon App also records the driving distance and duration of each trip.
1. Overspeed Alert - The Autobeacon app displays the starting and ending locations of instances where overspeeding occurs. Various driving environments such as urban, highway, national highways, expressways, etc., have distinct overspeed limits.
2. Sudden Braking Alert - Shows the location and severity of Sudden Braking. Sudden Braking alert is marked as Low, Medium or High based on its severity.
3. Hard Acceleration Alert - Shows the location and severity of Hard Acceleration. Hard Acceleration alert is marked as Low, Medium or High based on its severity.
4. Fast Cornering Alert - Shows the location and severity of Fast Cornering. Fast Cornering refers to a sharp turn or sudden lane change taken at medium to high speed. In case of two wheelers, zig-zag riding will also result in Fast Cornering alert. Fast Cornering alert is marked as Low, Medium or High based on its severity.
5. Distracted Driving Alert - Shows the location and time period of Distracted Driving bebaviour. Distracted Driving refers to a driver picking up the phone for a call or texting like action while the vehicle is moving. In case one uses a Bluetooth headunit or hands-free while calling during a drive, this alert will not be generated.
AutoBeacon App collects your driving behavior data from phone sensors (like GPS and accelerometers) only when you are in moving vehicle. Thus the daily battery consumption due to AutoBeacon is proportional to your Daily Driving Time. We have optimized AutoBeacon to consume optimal amount of battery as needed for accurate driving behavior monitoring purpose. For a typical daily commute of 4 hours, AutoBeacon is expected to consume 10% of your battery (assuming 3000 mAH battery capacity)
No, AutoBeacon App does not require your phone data to be ON while driving. AutoBeacon will still collect and analyze your driving behavior data. However, your driving behavior data of your past trips will be synced with the server later when the internet is available on your phone.
